Lauren Voss Mitschrich, PA-C
Say hello to our talented, expertly trained Dermatology Physician Assistant
Lauren joins BEAUTY by BUFORD with years of experience, advanced training, and a deep passion for helping her patients look and feel beautiful.
After spending years honing her skill and working alongside world-leaders in the aesthetic industry from New York to California, Lauren is excited to bring her unique skill set to Denver and provide BEAUTY by BUFORD patients a stellar experience and outstanding results.
I chose this field because it is the true intersection of three things: artistry, science, and relationships. If I had to sum myself up in a few words, it would be a nerdy, creative-type who loves to serve people! These three things are a big part of who I am and what make me tick. I have a true passion for utilizing my education and new technologies to restore skin health and alongside my patients.
Laurens practice is built on three core philosophies:
-
- Education & Safety. As a board certified dermatology PA, Lauren has had extensive training and education in facial and skin anatomy and physiology—and she spent hundreds of hours attending further training specific to aesthetics. She practices within this specialty knowing that safety is the first priority and dedicates a portion of every consultation explaining to patients why it is so important. This is not a risk-free industry, and patients must be cautious in choosing qualified providers amidst a growing number of salons and spas offering aesthetic medical services.
- Artistry & Stellar Results. Lauren is extremely passionate about natural, balanced results. Her goal is restoration or balance first, then gentle, classy enhancement second only when desired. Creating a fully customized treatment plan for each patient is incredibly important, which is where her global training and practicing from coast to coast come in. Lauren has been trained to create a variety of looks from Cali-style to New York aesthetics. Her goal with every patient is to build a foundation of trust and appreciation for the artistry.
- The Patient Experience. Customer service is important to Lauren—and she puts much time and effort into perfectly crafting a positive, trusting relationship with her patients. In addition to expertise, skill, and experience, empathy and compassion are an important aspect of creating a wonderful patient experience. Lauren wants every patient to feel these from her instantly during consultation, which is why she focuses on small but important details including pricing transparency, personal response time, online scheduling, patient reviews and thank-yous, and access to photos and documentation.
I want patients to trust my education and practices, knowing they are safe to put their faces in my hands (hah!).
Lauren’s passion for aesthetics can be seen not only in her beautiful results and dedication to patients but also her creation of @TheSkinScholar and new SkinTalks podcast that will launch later this year.
Lauren’s aesthetic training, education, and experience
After earning her undergraduate degree from Rudgers University in Biomedical Science & Exercise Physiology, Lauren went on to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham Surgical Physician Assistant Program and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the top of her class with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. In between schooling, she trained anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical staff to use EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software real-time in the OR.
After her completion of the Surgical PA Program, Lauren was selected for a highly competitive reconstructive surgery rotation at MD Anderson in Houston, TX on the breast and head/neck reconstructive teams.
During my almost 7-year career, I have been passionate about staying at the forefront of the industry and have trained with world experts including Julie Horne, RN (Norway), Consultant Clinic (London), Arthur Swift, MD (Canada), and so many others.
Post-graduation, Lauren moved to San Francisco to begin her career with two plastic surgeons before teaming up with board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon as she built a second location. After completing this fellowship, Lauren practiced medical and cosmetic dermatology independently while serving as an educator and preceptor for three PA schools. A new opportunity took Lauren and her husband to NYC, where she joined a highly regarded cosmetic dermatology practice.
In 2019, Lauren earned “Diplomate Fellow” status with the Society of Dermatology PAs.
Lauren outside of the office
Born and raised in a small Wisconsin town, Lauren is an outdoor enthusiast excited to explore all that Denver has to offer. She married her high school sweetheart three years ago, and together they enjoy nature photography, travel, and outdoor recreation. Her only brother is an “ultimate mountain man” who has lived in—and thoroughly enjoyed—Denver for a number of years, so she and her husband were happy to make the move when the opportunity arrived.
During college, Lauren was a DIV 1 Women’s Volleyball player and Big East Academic All-Star for all four years of her undergraduate studies. Her work has taken her from Wisconsin to Jersey to San Francisco to New York City, giving her an appreciation for the diversity of aesthetics and a passion for travel.
